Our Custom Cabinetry

We are experienced, high-quality, custom, cabinet makers.

Between the decades of expertise of our designers, the amazing craftsmen in our manufacturing shop, and the skill of our installers, RM Kitchens can give you the unique and functional space you have been envisioning.

We inventory various hardwoods and quality veneer core plywood that enable our craftsmen to cut, machine, and assemble a high-quality product. Our projects travel from parts cutting, to a machining center, and on to assembly where the cabinetry begins to take shape.

Once the cabinetry is assembled and all the various parts are complete, they go to final sanding and inspection. There the cabinet box, doors, and drawer heads are inspected, fitted, and sanded with medium and fine grit paper to prepare the wood to receive the finish that was selected by the customer.

In the finish room, the project will undergo multiple finish applications to achieve the stained, painted, or artistic finish package per specifications. Once completed and dry, the project moves to final assembly and hardware, where the door and drawer hardware and accessories are installed. Last, the project has one final inspection, before it is prepared to ship to our customer’s home to be installed.

Our 50 Year History

The story of RM Kitchens begins in 1969, when our founder, J. Paul Martin, moved to Annville, Pennsylvania and opened a cabinetry showroom. He was an exclusive dealer for Rutt Cabinetry and named his new company, Rutt-Martin Kitchens. This name became recognized for exceptional quality and service; a reputation we continue to build upon today. Paul was later joined by two of his sons, Richard (1973) and Troy (1984) as well as son-in-law Lee Bachman (1981). Lee Bachman and Troy Martin became sole owners of the company in 1995.

Lee and Troy became motivated by a vision of providing cabinetry that would offer a new level of design freedom and the ability to offer fully customizable, highest quality cabinets. Quickly outgrowing the original workshop, a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was constructed in 2006. Located only three miles from our showroom, it is frequently toured by our customers to see the production of their custom cabinets and to meet the craftsmen who build them.

Having developed the experience and capabilities to meet the demands of design-driven cabinets, they decided it was time for the custom cabinetry line to be given its own name, Spring Hill Cabinetry. As in nature, where strong springs foster renewal and growth, the name Spring Hill Cabinetry highlights our enduring legacy and captures the promise of fresh new opportunities.

About the Owners

Troy Martin is the Operations Manager of RM Kitchens, Inc. A typical day involves oversight of the cabinetry manufacturing production and project scheduling, order processing, and purchasing. He is also most often the person to greet you when visiting the Annville showroom. Lee Bachman is the president and lead designer at RM Kitchens, Inc.

Troy Martin

As the operations manager of RM Kitchens, a typical day involves the oversight of the cabinetry manufacturing production, project scheduling, order processing, and purchasing. I am also often the first person to greet you when you visit the showroom.

Early in life, my father, J. Paul Martin taught me that if something is worth doing, it is worth doing right. That kind of mindset has helped me strive to excel in serving God in my local church ministry, provide for my family, and manage RM Kitchens in a way that meets and exceeds customer expectations; in the product, service, and a positive work environment for my coworkers. In my spare time, I can be found swimming, biking, or running in pursuit of my next triathlon adventure.

Lee Bachman

Fast approaching my 40th year at RM Kitchens, and even though I enjoy being a very busy designer, my greatest love is for my family; wife of 47 years Wanda, two adult daughters Heather and Melissa, and one very energetic and sweet grandson Evan Lee.  If there is any spare time, I enjoy gardening, as evidenced by my many home gardens. When possible, I love hiking, hunting , and exploring the remote areas of our vast Pennsylvania mountains. Last but not least, I delight in worshiping and volunteering at our local LCBC Church.

Our Remodeling Process

Design & Plan

The completion of a successful kitchen remodel project is achieved through careful planning and attention to details

Our team of professional designers has extensive experience in creating your dream space and then managing complex processes. Typically, this begins with a meeting in our showroom. While the showroom is open for you to browse, we also recommend calling to schedule an appointment. This way we can walk you through the showroom and answer your questions.

R

On-site Evaluation

After the preliminary meeting in our showroom, a site evaluation meeting is scheduled.

At this time, measurements are taken and information is gathered, which is needed for the initial kitchen design phase. With this information, the designer will develop a plan, view drawings, and then share their vision for your space. These early-stage plans will both lead to discussions and decisions, and will also help generate your cost estimate to be presented and analyzed. All of this is done to assure the design phase moves in the best direction for the homeowner.

Build & Installation

At this juncture, in order to proceed, a 3% retainer is required.

All the initial services are provided without cost to present accurate information for informed decisions. At this time, the designer will create detailed drawings, giving a visual description of the project, and the product samples are produced to your design specifications. The collection of materials begins and decisions are made all with your designer’s guidance.
