RM Kitchens and Spring Hill Cabinetry - Over 48 Years of History
The story of RM Kitchens and Spring Hill Cabinetry began in 1969 when our founder, J. Paul Martin, moved to Annville, Pennsylvania and opened a cabinetry showroom. He was an exclusive dealer for Rutt Custom Cabinetry and named his new company, Rutt-Martin Kitchens. This name soon became recognized for exceptional quality and service; a reputation we continue to build upon today. This original name is still used by many of our customers.
Paul was later joined by two of his sons, Richard (in 1973) and Troy (in 1984), and a son-in-law, Lee Bachman (in 1981). Lee and Troy became the sole owners of the company in 1995.
Early on, we became motivated by a vision of providing cabinetry that would offer a new level of design freedom and product quality. In order to realize this, we underwent a significant transformation. Designing with name brand cabinets was gradually phased out as we began to manufacture more of our own products. It was during this transition we changed our name to RM Kitchens, Inc. This venture (over many years now) has provided us with excellent opportunities to design unique, high quality cabinetry for our clients.
With the successful introduction of our specialized cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, and other rooms of the house, we soon outgrew the original workshop. A new manufacturing facility was constructed in 2006. This shop, located only three miles from our Lebanon County showroom, is frequently toured by our clients to see the production process of their cabinets and to meet the craftsmen who build them.
One of our most exciting changes began early in 2014. We initiated a marketing program focused on promoting a fresh image for our company and beginning an expansion of our presence into a larger geographic region. Having developed the experience and capabilities to meet the demands of design-driven cabinets, we decided it was time for our cabinets to be given their own name and brand identity.
The name we chose is Spring Hill Cabinetry. The inspiration for the name comes from the fresh springs that populate our neighboring hills and are the source of the streams which flow past our cabinet showroom. As in nature, where strong springs foster renewal and growth, we believe the name Spring Hill Cabinetry highlights our enduring legacy and perfectly captures the promise of fresh new opportunities.
